Hello, fellow campers and travellers! We’re excited to share with you our recent adventure with our new Nissan Xtrail, a hybrid electric car that is perfect for exploring the great outdoors. It’s very fuel-efficient and smooth to drive, and it has plenty of space for both of us and pulls (Wottie) the teardrop camper trailer as if it were not there.

The (dry) site and showing off the shiny new car. |
We left work on Friday afternoon and headed south for four hours, eager to reach our campsite and relax. But when we got there, we were greeted by a soggy mess. It had rained heavily that afternoon, and the ground was flooded. There was no way we could set up our tent or even unhitch the trailer. So we decided to make the best of it and just sleep in the teardrop as it was. (Parked sideways in a dark puddle) It was cosy and comfortable inside, and we fell asleep to the sound of crickets, frogs, and pounding rain.
The next morning, we woke up to a beautiful sunny day. The water had drained away, and the grass was dry and green. I moved the teardrop to a better spot, and then went for a run along the beach. The sand was soft and warm, and the waves were gentle and soothing. I ran back through the hills, enjoying the fresh air and the scenic views. It was a great way to start the day.

That smile that only comes with the right sort of caffeine. The 12v espresso maker is visible in the left hand corner of the galley |
After a quick shower and breakfast, I brewed myself a cup of espresso with the new conqueco espresso maker, a portable device that works with any 12V power source. It was easy to use and produced a delicious shot with an exquisite crema. It passed the test with flying colours, and I was ready to explore more of the area.
I’ll tell you more about the features of the car and the espresso maker in another post, (yeah, maybe) but for now, I just wanted to share this snapshot of my road trip with you. I hope you enjoyed it, and I hope you’ll follow me on tinycamper.blog for more updates.
Happy camping!
