Gday readers.
Well its Thursday. No sooner have we washed of the dust from last weekends trip to Grassy Head than it's time to plug in the trailer and cool down the fridge, charge the batteries, run through the checklist and head off again.
This weekend we are returning to Springbrook National Park. The sites are on a first come basis, unfortunately for us we arrive on dusk and good sites may be gone. By good site I mean solar access, privacy, space, level, and not near the toilet block.

Hard to miss the sign, but I did. |
Weather is looking to be clear but cool, which is perfect for the hikes we have planned. We use a combination of the parks site as well as alltrails. Between those we have almost all of the info we need.
Arrival
So we arrived 40 mins before last light and set up and got fire started. Sitting by the fire under the awning out of mistsy windy moistness. Discovered that leeches can drop from trees given the right conditions. More on leeches here.
Woke Saturday morning to a beautiful harmony of birdsong. Coffee, then drive to trailhead for a cool trek down to Waringa Pool, and a somewhat hotter trek back.

Back at camp for lunch, then an afternoon walk on the Purlingbrook Falls loop.

Then home and start the (illegal) fire and get dinner on, only to be told by a kindly ranger that fires were prohibited in the park and that any other ranger would not be as kind and would fine us. (I hadn't noticed the signs.)
Anyway, we sat by the steaming remnants of our coals ate dinner, enjoyed the dusk and went to bed. Up at dawn Sunday for the twin falls trek. Beautiful.

Home again, pack up, and leave by 11:00 am. We returned via Gold Coast, did our shopping, collected a 12v shower from Tentworld, as well as toilet additive, and were home by 3:30 pm
Now back to planning the next trip
