Greetings, readers!
Sometimes the best escapes are the ones closest to home, and that's exactly what we discovered on our recent trip to Springbrook National Park. Located less than 90 minutes from our doorstep, this place is a true hidden gem - a one-stop-shop for waterfalls, caves, gorges, and lush rainforest, all wrapped up in a picturesque mountain setting.

We've travelled far and wide in our trusty teardrop camper, chasing stunning natural wonders. But Springbrook National Park managed to surprise and delight us with just how much it has to offer, right in our own backyard. It's the kind of place that makes you wonder how you didn't discover it sooner.

Perched at around 700 meters above sea level, Springbrook has a cooler climate than the nearby coast. This was a welcome respite during our visit, as the sites are mostly shaded and would be a delightful escape from the summer heat. However, the trade-off in the colder months is that there's limited sunlight to charge our batteries.

Lesson learned? Upgrade that charging cable! Our initial 6-meter cord just wasn't long enough to reach the sun, but a 12-meter upgrade has made all the difference. Now we can soak up those precious rays and keep our home on wheels powered up.

The Settlement campground itself is a real gem, with spacious, well-appointed sites that make for a comfortable base to explore this natural wonderland. Whether you're chasing waterfalls, searching for hidden caves, or simply immersing yourself in the lush rainforest, Springbrook National Park has it all. And the best part? It's just a short drive away.
