Hiking near Shoal Bay

The day begins as all good days begin, with a caffeine extraction ritual, using the Bialetti Mini Espresso maker. The Bialetti Mini here looks lot better than it works. A few days after this it began to leak. Will update later in a review of our coffee journey in the teardrop.

We make a start along the trail behind our camp, headings South and passing some beautiful viewpoints

The flannel flower. There were spots in our walk where the whole understory was a mass of white

Deserted beach number 1. King tides. The smell of eucalyptus, and the sound of cicadas.

Very pretty red flowers on the mountain devil.

Glorious Fingal. Picture does not show the actual size of the swell here today.

Looking back to Fingal, massive swell.

About now it got really hot, and the track became steep and sandy, so we headed back to the suburbs and found a café. Then a walk back to the pod, a quick swim, and then dinner at camp with favourite daughter number 2
