Silence: An Early Morning Trek to The Amphitheatre.

Sunday dawned, coffee sipped, we ventured on a 24-kilometer return to Big Bend—an unmissable sojourn.

As coffee brewed, the sky lightened, awaiting our walk.

Departing at first light had bestowed upon us the privilege of experiencing this natural marvel in blissful solitude.

One of the first of many creek crossings.

En route to Big Bend, we paused at the enthralling amphitheatre, an awe-inspiring spectacle that demanded our undivided attention. Every sound, from the rustle of leaves to the melodious babble of nearby springs, echoed through the ancient walls, serenading us with a symphony composed by nature herself. It was a composition that stirred the soul, its melodies intertwined with the heartbeat of the wilderness.

Stepping into the heart of this natural sanctuary, the acoustics whispered secrets to us.

A crack, oft overlooked, in the cliff’s rugged visage.

Seated, we listened and marvelled in silence.
Looking Out from the entry

Looking up from within

Onward we journeyed, crossing countless creeks, embraced by the gorge’s ancient precipices, en route to the Art Gallery.
